2010 PC Games

Max Payne 3

"This is Max as we've never seen him before, a few years older, more world-weary and cynical than ever." Since the last game, the press release states Max has left New York behind and has "drifted from bad to worse." The press release then goes on to say Max has been double-crossed in this new city and he is searching for the truth and a way out.

The game will be set in São Paulo, Brazil, where Payne is working in the private security sector for a wealthy local family, set 12 years after the events of the second game.

 Bioshock 2

Set in 1968, 8 years after the events in BioShock, Rapture is now under the control of a psychiatrist named Sofia Lamb, whose ideas for human progression are a sharp contrast to the city's deceased founder, Andrew Ryan. While Ryan believed in the genius of the individual, Lamb believes in collective effort and the power of the community. Under Sofia's rule, the first generation of Little Sisters have matured into adolescence. The Big Sisters, as they are now known, are highly aggressive and have the ability to use plasmids absorbed from gathering ADAM as a child. Sofia sends them out to coastlines across the Atlantic, kidnapping little girls and turning them into new Little Sisters.

Command and Conquer 4: Tiberian Twilight

Tiberian Twilight is the final game in the Tiberium Universe to feature Kane. It has a sterner and more mature tone compared to previous games in the series, even though the gameplay itself is more cartoonish. The prologue to the game takes place in the year 2062, 15 years after the events of Tiberium Wars which led to the invasion and defeat of the Scrin, and 10 years after the final events of Kane's Wrath, where the prophet regained possession of the Tacitus (an alien data matrix supposedly created by Kane himself). During this time period, Tiberium  has spread all across Earth and is still spreading at such a rate that the whole planet is expected to become uninhabitable by 2068. Humanity is on the brink of extinction.

Darkvoid
The game's story takes place during World War II and centers around a cargo pilot named William Augustus Grey (voiced by Nolan North) who is teleported to another world while flying through the Bermuda Triangle. In this world, known as the 'Void', Will encounters an alien race as well as other humans, which are known as the Watchers and the Survivors respectively. Will reluctantly joins the Survivors who are engaged in a feud with the alien race to satisfy his desire to return to Earth. While aiding the Survivors, Will discovers that the Void is a middle ground that connects both the Watchers homeworld and Earth. It also becomes apparent that the Watchers are supplying the Axis powers with various wartime provisions for reasons unknown. With the help of Nikola Tesla, Will utilizes retrofited Watcher technology to combat the Watchers and eventually find a way to escape the Void.

Dragon Age: Origins-Awakening

Set after the events of Dragon Age: Origins in the land of Amaranthine, Dragon Age: Origins - Awakening places the player in the role of a Grey Warden trying to rebuild the order while also dealing with political matters as the Arl of Amaranthine.

Named the Warden Commander, the player travels to Vigil's Keep to assume command of the Grey Wardens there. However, the keep is discovered to have been assaulted by Darkspawn, and something amiss is noticed as such an organized attack would have taken an intelligent leader to direct. The player is able to clear the keep with the aid of Mhairi, an able female warrior, and two others: Anders, an apostate mage who seeks refuge away from the Tower of Magi, and Oghren. A new, talking Darkspawn, a Disciple, is discovered to have been the leader of the enemy forces and is defeated. With the keep secured, the player then sets forth on a journey to help garner support for the Grey Wardens and new recruits to join the order's ranks while also looking for clues as to solve the mystery of the intelligent Darkspawn.

Final Fantasy XIV
Eorzea's nations used to be constantly at war with each other until fifteen years ago when the Garlean Empire, a mysterious nation from the east, razed the mightiest of the city-states, Ala Mhigo. The nations decided to band together if they were to repel the invaders, but the Empire never came, leaving a state of détente throughout the land. The resulting peace has led to a wide swath of soldiers and mercenaries suddenly without a job, and so they're now forming guilds and going by a new name: adventurers.

Halo-Reach

The game follows the actions of Noble Team, a UNSC special operations unit composed of elite supersoldiers known as Spartans. Players assume the role of an unnamed new addition to the team, identified by the call sign Noble 6. Noble Team's leader is Carter-259, a no-nonsense soldier. His second-in-command, Kat-320, has a bionic arm; together Carter and Kat are the only two remaining original members of Noble Team. The other members include heavy weapons specialist Jorge-052, Emile-239, and marksman Jun-266.

Gran Turismo 5
Gran Turismo 5 will be the first game in the Gran Turismo franchise to include both mechanical and external damage modeling, including a real-time deformation engine that will process model deformation according to the speed and angle of impact. Yamauchi confirmed that all vehicles will receive damage of some sort, with racing cars set to feature more advanced damage, while production cars will only receive scratches and mechanical damage. The most recent videos, however, feature a Toyota FT-86 concept displaying damage modeling that includes loose front and rear bumpers, slight deformation, and slightly opened doors. It was revealed at the Tokyo Game Show 2009 that it will also be possible to overturn cars. Damage is a feature that Yamauchi has said can be turned on or off. Gran Turismo 2 previously included damage, but was limited to mechanical damage only.

Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep

The game is a prequel to the original Kingdom Hearts, taking place ten years before, and features many previously unseen characters and unexplained plot elements from the series. The game centers on the journeys of Terra, Aqua, and Ventus, characters briefly featured in Kingdom Hearts II, in their quest to locate the missing Master Xehanort. The game also utilizes an overhauled battle system different from previous games in the series with new elements such as the Command Board, Command System and Dimension Links added in.

Mega Man 10

A robotic illness known as Roboenza starts infecting robots, causing them to malfunction, with Roll  becoming one of the victims. A month following the outbreak, the infected robots go berserk and attempt to take over the world. Dr. Wily comes to Mega Man and Dr. Light, claiming that he was building a machine making medicine to cure the disease before one of the infected robots stole it. Reluctantly, Mega Man decides to help Dr. Wily retrieve the machine and soon runs into Proto Man, who decides to join him. Mega Man halfway finishes his journey when Dr. Wily completes a prototype antidote, and it is given to Roll. After all eight robot masters are defeated, Mega Man himself appears to have caught Roboenza, making it look like all is lost once Dr. Wily appears on television and reveals that he created the virus, and only developed a cure so he could bribe all the infected robots into coming to work for him. After this, Roll gives Mega Man her medicine, saying she had saved it in case "a really sick robot was brought in." Mega Man reluctantly takes Roll's medicine so that he can go defeat Wily and bring back enough medicine for everyone. After confronting Wily in his space fortress, Mega Man defeats him and Wily ends up catching a fever. Mega Man brings Wily to the hospital and days later, he escapes, leaving multiple cure medicines in his bed.
